Why have a custom designed wedding gown made?
When you have your wedding gown designed by our designer at Parisian Lady it is a one of a kind gown that is made perfectly to fit you in every way. We pride ourselves on working with each one of our clients individually to represent how and what you imagine as your dream gown for your most special day of your life. We offer the kind of one on one attention you deserve in making your choice on a gown that you will not receive anywhere else. We take the stress of countless hours spent shopping around, trying on endless dresses and then worrying about alterations done elsewhere and have combined them all in one place in our comfortable and stress free environment in our fit boutique.
What if I don't know what kind of wedding gown I want?
Our professional wedding gown designer will work with you during your initial consultation to determine what will suit your needs best. We do recommend if you are absolutely unsure of what you want style wise and what will look best on you to spend a little time trying on a few dresses in some retail bridal boutiques to get a better idea of what you like before you come for your consultation.
How long will it take to have a custom designed wedding gown made?
After your initial consultation with our bridal designer has been completed, sketches are completed and a bridal gown order has been placed, our delivery is anywhere from 30-90 days delivery depending on the style and is all inclusive of the fittings.
How much will it cost to have a custom designed wedding gown made?
Each gown is custom designed for you and therefore is unique in style and detailing. Each gown will have an individual quote price once all fabrics, details and styling has been chosen by you. Again, if you have a specific budget you are working with let the designer know during the initial consultation so they can work within that price range. Custom bridal gowns start at $900+
What is involved in the consultation?
The consultation is the most important step for both the designer and the bride. To understand what the bride is looking for, to understand her personality, style and taste and overall to determine the right direction the designer will take in designing for the bride. You will review bridal fabric choices from sample headers, color choices and fine details like beadwork and lace. If deciding to go ahead with the designer, a design deposit is required and the design process by way of sketches will be done for your review to choose from on a second appointment where you will make final decisions on your wedding gown style and fabric choice.
What is the process of having a custom gown made?
Once you have chosen your fabrics in the boutique and placed an order for a custom wedding gown, a 50% deposit on the full amount is required(the initial design deposit is included in the final price of the gown). Allow at least one month for your custom wedding gown pattern to be made and a mock-up to be completed in which the designer will call you to come in for your first fitting. There are typically 2-3 fittings required before your final fitting/pick-up date where your finished gown is packaged in a bridal gown bag.
Do you Re-Make older or vintage wedding gowns and what is the process?
Absolutely. We can re-vamp any older gown you have or multiple gowns and combine them into a modern wedding gown to suit you. We will book you an appointment to come in with your gown(s) and discuss what your vision is and make suggestions based on our professional experience with hundreds of brides. Once a decision is made as to the new design, a quote price is given to you on the re-make cost and the process is started. Because re-makes are complete custom pieces the designer will also let you know at the consultation as to how much time it will take to complete.
Do you provide a Wedding Gown steaming service?
Yes we do. We will steam your gown for you which will have a small cost based on the size of your gown.
Do you do wedding gown alterations for dresses bought from a store?
Yes, we provide full wedding gown alterations. Call us to book an appointment for a bridal gown fitting and be sure to check out the 'tips for your fitting' below before coming in.
Tips for your Initial Consultation
1. We recommend you book your initial consultation at least six months prior to the wedding date.
2. We recommend you come on your own and with only one other person if they will be making important decisions with you in regards to your wedding dress!
3. Bring any tearsheets from magazines or books and any photos you have found on styles or details you have seen that you like. These will assist our designer while working with you.
4. If you already have a set budget you are working with let the designer know, otherwise a price range will be discussed based on the direction of the style of gown.
Tips for your Fittings
1. Come to your fitting on your own! You are paying the designer to give you their undivided attention and it's very important they are solely focusing their attention on YOU most importantly and concentrating their time on the fit and design of your gown.
2. Always remember to come prepared with all your undergarments you will be wearing under your gown.
3. Bring your footwear you will be wearing on your big day. If you are scheduled for a fitting before you have purchased your actual shoes than bring a similar height shoe you are planning on wearing on your big day that you already have.
4. If you have plans to lose(gain) any weight around the wedding date then let the designer know this upon signing your wedding gown order so the pattern is made accordingly.
5. Eat a small snack before you come! Fitting your wedding gown is an emotional process so you need to keep up your energy level as some fittings are longer than others.
